Obtaining Knowledge

A few weeks ago I attended a law enforcement trainers conference in Gatlinburg, TN. for general department instructors and trainers. They had several courses to choose from and I picked the AR-15 armor course and the Glock armor course.

Let me explain my why.

There is nothing more heart breaking then being on the range, in a firearms class, your firearm malfunctions, and you don't know why. Does the instructor have an extra handgun? Does the instructor have an extra rifle? In some cases yes, instructors will have a back up, but not always. And we don't want to rely just on that hope.

My why brings me to being able to offer the student the ability to diagnose the problem and fix it. Which puts you back in the fight. I've seen to many officer's on the range and click, nothing happens. Frustration builds, pause training, take the firearm up to supply to either fix it or exchange.

So my why is, to assist the students by keeping them in the fight.
